Reach Operational Efficiency with
Parts Merge
Eliminate duplicate parts and keep inventory lean with smart part consolidation.
What is Parts Merge?
Keep inventory lean by consolidating duplicate parts without losing critical data. Parts Merge allows you to combine duplicate part records while keeping historical transactions and stock details intact.
Why Use Parts Merge?
- Eliminate duplicate part records to maintain an accurate inventory
- Preserve transaction history and key part details
- Consolidate stock quantities for seamless inventory management
How to Merge Parts
Find and Select Duplicate Parts
- Run the Duplicate Parts Report under My Reports > Inventory to identify potential duplicates.
- Navigate to Inventory > Parts
- Select a part and choose Action > Merge to open the Part Merge menu. Then, select a second part to merge in the right column. To view recommended duplicates, select the drop-down to the left of the field. Recommendations are based on similar descriptions, part types, classes, MFR Part IDs, and vendor part IDs.
- Alternatively, use Batch Edit to select two parts, then click Action > Merge.
Choose Primary Part and Merge
- Select the Primary Record—this Part ID will remain, while the other is removed.
- Pick which details to keep from each record.
- Click OK to complete the merge.
Stock Information Alert: If the non-primary part has stock, a notification will appear. Users should adjust stock levels before merging to ensure accuracy.
What Gets Merged?
- Selected part fields (e.g., descriptions, IDs, expense details)
- Historical transactions & replenishment info.
- Stock information (quantities combined if stored in the same location)
- Substitutes, spare parts, and purchasing details
- Part list and navigation history
